DryZone was approached by Manny Carrar concerning the Governor’s Mansion Guest House, also known as Hall House regarding a water leakage issue in the basement of the mansion. This home was built in 1790 and has been a historic figure in the capital of Delaware ever since. Through our previous government projects, the Hall House heard about our professional waterproofing work and decided to give us a call. We have worked with companies such as Paradise Grill, Assawoman Canal Bridge, Johnson Victrola Museum, and more. DryZone came out to the property to take a look at the problem and discovered there was more than one issue regarding the basement. Water leakage from the basement walls was not the only issue but we also found unleveled flooring throughout the basement. DryZone had to come up with a solution to dry the basement and keep the floor leveled while keeping the historic integrity of the Victorian mansion.   DryZone specializes in many products but the specific ones we used for this project was TrenchDrain, TripleSafe Sump Pump, and IceGuard. When deciding on which drainage system to use, DryZone chose TrenchDrain to maintain the historic integrity of the home.  Also, the homeowner wanted a product that would not stick up out of the ground but instead stay at ground level. TrenchDrain goes into the floor and levels out with the rest of the ground while allowing water to flow straight into the drain. The TrenchDrain sits in a TrenchLock with little cups and balls that seal air from the ground. When water flows in, the balls float up and let the water down, and then reseat when it’s over. From there, the water will go into the pipes which flows through the TripeSump Pump. Lastly, the IceGuard was installed to the outside of the home for the water to flow out of the basement. The major benefit of the IceGuard is that water can only flow outside of the basement and cannot come back into the home. DryZone is glad that Manny Carrar called us when he did because we were able to solve the problem with their basement immediately and effectively. Now downtown Dover has a safe Governor’s Mansion Guest House and water damage is no longer an issue.   

A concrete slab can become frustrating after constantly tripping over the cracks. What should you do in this situation? The answer is simple, contact DryZone with these issues! As you can see from these pictures, the concrete slab is sinking and the homeowners are concerned because the soil and the concrete are not at the same level. DryZone suggested injecting PolyLevel because we are able to raise the sinking slab and fill the area where the soil and concrete do not meet. 

Polylevel is the best way to raise sinking concrete. In this case, the homeowners were experiencing sinking concrete and cracks in their stairs before entering their home. Their concerns grew as the crack became deeper and wider. They knew the best solution was for someone to come out and take a look at the issue. DryZone came out to the property and saw the problem right away. With that, DryZone also knew the right answer right away, PolyLevel foam injection. 

The sidewalk in Dover, DE is experiencing sinking problems. The homeowners are concerned about their family members and guests tripping over the sinking concrete slabs.  DryZone injected the PolyLevel foam into the concrete slab to level it.

In Dover, DE the sidewalk and driveway needed to be injected with PolyLevel foam. This is the best solution for a quick and less expensive concrete raise. A lot of homeowners will have their concrete torn apart and replaced but that is very time-consuming and expensive. After the homeowners heard about PolyLevel foam they could not resist this option!

This homeowner had a serious problem. The slab driveway pad that led to the garage had sunk 3 inches from the garage entry sill. This caused a huge crack to form across the driveway and prevented the homeowner from being able to safely use their garage. Rather than remove all of the concrete and pour a new slab, this smart homeowner contacted DryZone. Our hard working crew of concrete professionals arrived and used PolyLevel to lift the slab and repaired the cracking with NEXUS Pro. This homeowner now has a driveway that can be used and the value of home is increased.

This crawl space was negatively impacting this home. The crawl space was completely unconditioned. This always hurts a home due to the stack effect, all of that poorly tempered and unhealthy air rising up into your home. In this case, that is even more impactful because the crawl space had an open entrance to the basement. The toy cars that our inspectors found on the free inspection of the home was evidence that this space had a LARGE impact on the family's lives and health. The dots in the initial pictures are the reflections of the water droplets in the air caused by the extreme high humidity that this crawl space had. CleanSpace with drainage matting was installed in this home along with SilverGlo foam which blocked the inside of the vents and made a huge difference for these homeowners!

This homeowner called DryZone to save their game room space from flooding and destroying their ping pong and pool table. Their old sump pump was going off every 10 - 15 minutes and without a new solution, the basement would flood quite quickly ruining their whole game room! With the TripleSafe sump pump with an exterior discharge pipe, this homeowner can be reassured that their space will be dry for years of enjoyment!

This homeowner knew that the best thing to prevent water and moisture in your basement is to prevent it at the very beginning!  With our WaterGuard system around the perimeter and a SuperSump Plus sump pump installed before the concrete is even poured sure made it easier for us! After the concrete is poured and the home is fully built, we will then install a dehumidifier to fully control the space.
