The foundation vents are basically holes in the foundation wall that let in dirty, wet air. Most people are used to opening the vents in the summer and closing them in the winter. The idea is to ventilate the crawlspace and get some air moving down there. However, there just isn't enough wind power to do this. All they really do is let in the humid air in the summer. As you know by now, the humid air leads to mold and rot. DryZone uses a thick, rigid foam board to seal these vents. We lock out the bad air and then condition the air that is already in the crawlspace. We want to keep it dry and its hard to do that with a leak in the wall.
