Dryer vent extension
This picture shows a dryer vent extension. You might be thinking, "why does that make a difference?" The answer is that the moist air from the dryer cannot empty into your crawlspace if you want to keep it dry. Think about this, the clothes go into the dryer wet and come out dry. That means that the water has to go somewhere. You dryer blows the wet air out and under the house. Some times it empties directly into your crawlspace. A dryer vent extension is a great way to help keep the crawlspace dry.
Blocked and sealed foundation vent
The foundation vents are basically holes in the foundation wall that let in dirty, wet air. Most people are used to opening the vents in the summer and closing them in the winter. The idea is to ventilate the crawlspace and get some air moving down there. However, there just isn't enough wind power to do this. All they really do is let in the humid air in the summer. As you know by now, the humid air leads to mold and rot. DryZone uses a thick, rigid foam board to seal these vents. We lock out the bad air and then condition the air that is already in the crawlspace. We want to keep it dry and its hard to do that with a leak in the wall.
SaniDry CX air machine (dehumidifier)
Once the vents are sealed and the crawlspace is contained, it is necessary to dry the crawlspace air. The best way to do this is with one of the SaniDry air systems. They dry the air AND remove mold particles and allergens from the air. This is why we try not to call them just a dehumidifier. It would be like calling The White House just a house.
Everlast Crawlspace Door
Remember the old, rusty metal door on your crawlspace? Does it rattle in the wind and drive you nuts? Well, DryZone has a great solution to those problems. Our Everlast doors are all built onsite because no two crawlspace entries are exactly alike. They fit tight into a brand new frame that we build so that the majority of outside air is locked out. Made from a heavy duty vinyl material, they are rigid and tough. We hold them in place with several screws that have easy to turn knobs. You won't need any special tools to get into the crawlspace. The best part is that it won't rattle or warp, so it will fit the same way for years to come.
The Turtl Crawlspace Entry System
The Turtl is an amazing product. If you are concerned that water can get in through the below ground entryway to your crawlspace, look no further for a solution. Unlike the Everlast Door, the Turtl will protect against moist air and water. The Everlast Door is great for above ground doorways, but the Turtl is perfect for anything below ground. If you imagine the semi-circle shroud and sheet metal door that most homes have, you will realize that its basically a funnel for rain. What most people do is put a light plastic cover over the top to keep rain out, but what about when the ground water comes up from underneath? The Turtl is a solid piece of heavy duty plastic. It will never rot, mold, or rust. The water can't get in from the top, sides, or bottom. Its lockable and sturdy, you can even stand on it if you want.
