Using clean space in your crawl space does so many great things for the crawl space. This home in Willards, Maryland really needed to have the crawl space separated from the ground water moisture and the dirty ground. Clean space provided the home with protection from just that. Not only is the crawl space cleaner, but it is also healthier, taking away the sources that mold needs to grow. Adding in a Sump Pump for this homeowner made sure that water was directed out the crawl space! 

This home in Willards, Maryland had serious moisture issues. You can see from the wood moisture reading that the wood is a feeding ground for mold. Over time the wood will begin to break down from the mold causing wood rot. It is really important to make sure that you are addressing this issues before you have major structural damage.  For this home, it was important to address these issues. We installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier to allow the humid air to be taken out to the crawl space. We also were installed and new sump pump and Cleanspace around the entire crawl space.

You can see in the picture that the crawl space before was scary and dirty. A great environment for mold to grow. Mold spores can travel up to the home. The best way to make sure that this doesn't happen is by taking away everything that mold needs to grow.  By separating the home from the ground and adding a vapor barrier you are eliminating ground water moisture. As well adding a Sump Pump will ensure that the water is able to leave the space. Next is to add a dehumidifier. This will make sure that the air doesn't contain enough moisture to produce mold. This will help the home stay healthy and dry. 

Microbial growth and mildew began to take over this crawl space. Over time, insulation held onto moisture and began to fall, making an even bigger breeding ground for microbial growth. This Willards, MD homeowner knew he needed to encapsulate his crawl space to prevent the growth of mold and mildew in the future. With CleanSpace and a dehumidifier, his home was safe and clean. 

After noticing a crack on the foundation, this Harbeson, DE homeowner wondered if water was entering his finished basement. After investigating the floor of the basement, he saw some moisture collect through the carpet. Starting with a HydroLink drainage system, which allows water to flow and reach a SmartSump or TripleSafe sump pump system. There is a nylon sock that surrounds the pipe which adds an extra layer of filtration to prevent major clogging.   We also installed CleanSpace with draining matting, SaniDry Sedona, IceGuard, SilverGlo and discharge lines. All of which help in the aid of keeping the crawlspace a clean, dry and healthy area.

The homeowner noticed some water on the floor near and around their closet. Having water enter your home through walls is never a good thing so we made sure to inspect the area to ensure a permanent fix. After taking a look through a minor cut in the dry wall, we noticed the crack ran both north and south. Because of this, we had to cut out any drywall that was in the path.   Once all of the drywall was cut back, we used FlexiSpan to fill and seal the crack. FlexiSpan is a three-part process that begins with the application of a flexible sealant along the full length of the crack. Next, a strip of flexible and porous foam is installed over the crack.   Finally, an impermeable membrane is adhered to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. This fail-safe treatment allows any future seepage of water through the crack to move invisibly down the wall and into the basement’s perimeter drainage system.

The homeowner reached out to us because they were having water come into their basement during heavy rains. Their basement is already finished, so they want to have this issue fixed quickly to ensure there is no further damage.

Window wells can hold high amounts of water when not sealed properly. Once the well fills too much, it can start to slowly drip into the basement if not sealed properly.
