He wanted his basement finished to make it into a nice little quiet area for his wife to just relax, read, and have time to herself.
Once we had finished the work, he had somehow hidden from his wife the entire time, as he held her hand and led her down the new steps, and with her eyes closed shut, making sure she wouldn’t peek and ruin her surprise. These pictures show what happens when a concrete floor sags or cracks. There will be a gap between the floor and baseboard trim. We can use a variety of piering systems to correct this issue. In this case we used slab piers and pushed the slab back into place. The concrete was patched as needed and the homeowner had a huge smile afterwards.
