Large horizontal crack in the basement wall
Even from several feet back, you can see the large crack in the basement wall. DryZone installed about a half dozen PowerBrace support beams to prevent the wall from caving in.
Heavy, adjustable brackets
These braces are attached directly to the floor joist and can be adjusted over time. Many people like the look of having beefy steel beams helping to hold up their basement walls.
Bolted to the concrete floor
Each PowerBrace is bolted straight to the concrete basement floor. This process ensures that the bottom edge of the brace it sturdy enough to take some of the load of the wall.
Spacing out the PowerBraces
Each PowerBrace is rated using a load calculator. This tells our designers how far apart to space them so that they won't fail. Sometimes we have to move a few inches one way or another to allow for pipes and other obstructions. But the overall system is figured out before the installation, just to be sure it will work properly.
The newly supported basement wall
Now that the PowerBrace system is in place, the basement wall will not get any worse. This gives the homeowner piece of mind and him relax instead of worry over his bowing wall.
