Crawl Space Opening
The opening of this crawl space is soaked! So much water.
More Standing Water
It is like a swamp under the home!
Water Problem
We see this a lot in crawl spaces - standing water. But what it has done to this home is really incredible.
Down Over 2 Inches
You can see here that the main support in the home is down over 2 inches. The girder is the backbone of the home. When that is damaged you are bound to see other problems!
Tilting
Due to wood rot and moisture, the main girder in this home had started to twist
Where it should be...
You can see here where the girder needs to be to be level.
Noticeable Damage in the Home
You can see here the walls have started to sink and move from the structural problems below the home. Moisture can cause more problems than just under the home.
Moving Walls
The walls have started to sag and the molding is moving away from the ceiling.
Space Between
This wall separates the hallway from the bathroom. When the light was on you could actually see it peeking out through the space above the wall.
New Girder and Smart Jacks
Saving the structure of this home was number one priority. After the crawl space was dried out they could address the structural problems. Clean space and drainage matting helped to separate the home from the ground water and allow the water to drain to the sump pump.
Structure of the Home
The structure of this home was compromised due to moisture problems. We have installed a new girder and structural support. As well as, SmartJacks. Which can be adjusted if there is any settlement.
Keeping out the Moist Air
Installing a dehumidifier will make sure that there is no more moist, humid air in crawl space. This will protect the wood and the structure. The dehumidifier also drains directly into the sump pump.
New Crawl Space Entry!
The homeowners opted to instal a Turtl. A high-end, water tight crawl space entry! It looks so attractive outside of the home.
Raising the Wall
You can see here that the wall was able to be put back in place once we installed the new support.
