Old Sump Pump
The call to DryZone was initially about their old sump pump no longer working. But as the inspector dug deeper he saw a number of issues that raised alarm!
Wet Crawl Space
You can see here that the crawl space is totally saturated. Before we can address the structural damage we need to dry out the crawl space and remove the water.
Falling Insualtion
When there is a lot of moisture in the crawl space the insulation will absorb it. This will cause the insulation to become heavy and sag. At this point it is no longer effective.
Wood Rot
Over time you can see the damage that mold does to wood. And can cause major structural damage like it did in this house.
Smart Jacks
Smart Jacks where the solution to this home, adding support and peace of mind for the homeowners.
Signs of Structural Damage
Cracks on the corner of your doors and windows are signs that there is structural damage to house and the foundation. This is not something to be ignored.
Clean Space
This vapor barrier will help to keep moisture out of the crawl space. Something else that you might not be able to see, is the addition of SilverGlo. We removed the moisture damaged insulation off the floor joists and replaced it will our unique SliverGlo. SliverGlo is placed on the walls to insulate the whole space and keeps the area the same relative temperature all year long!
A New Sump Pump
It was time to replace the old sump pump. The new system will allow water to drain directly into the sump pump through the HydroLink and out of the home through the sump pump.
Dehumidifier
You can see in this picture the addition of the dehumidifier will help the space dry out and eliminate mold ever growing again!
New Wood
Another image of the new wood that was replaced under this home. A fresh start for this homeowner!
New Structure
You can see in this picture that new wood was added and replaced the old rotted wood. Smart Jacks were added in-between each pier and shims under the wood on the piers to keep everything level. Smart Jacks are ideal in this situation because they can be monitored and adjusted each year if there is any settling.
