Dirty, wet crawlspace
This shows that no matter how nice the home is above the ground, underneath is often a different story. Wet dirt, musty smells, standing water, and falling insulation are problems found in nearly every crawlspace on Delmarva.
Open nasty crawlspace
With all the bare dirt and open foundation vents, the air in this crawlspace is very moist. With moisture comes mold, wood rot, and smells.
Debris left behind
A lot of contractors and home builders will leave small debris behind. Crawlspaces are very tight and sometimes little pieces of wood and insulation get lost in the mix. These pieces of wood will rot and grow mold and fungus. DryZone makes it a point to rake all these pieces of trash out before starting the vapor barrier.
Wrapping the foundation supports
Wrapping the piers is a smart thing to do and gets overlooked a lot. If they aren't wrapped the liner will get small openings around all those supports. Some houses may have 10-20 concrete columns or more. Even though the openings around the base of the piers are small, that many would add up and make the system much less efficient. Plus it makes the crawlspace liner much nicer to look at, wouldn't you agree?
Reflective vapor barrier
Can you see how bright the crawlspace gets when a light shines on it? We could make our vapor barrier any color and it wouldn't change the overall purpose, so why not add a little fringe benefit and make the crawlspace brighter? A lot of people agree that white and bright looks cleaner, this makes everyone happier.
Overlapping seams
When we join the wall and floor liners together, there is always a long overlapped section. This prevents water from easily leaking through the seams.
No more bare dirt in the crawlspace
Once the liner is installed and all the seams are taped up, it becomes like one solid piece. It isn't often that we get calls saying the vapor barrier has leaked. Just like not all plastic is created equal, not all installation techniques are equal. We have years of experience behind us, and it shows.
Big difference after the liner is installed
DryZone installers and foremen pride themselves in having picture perfect installations. Our vapor barriers, sump pumps, and dehumidifiers are top notch and it shows.
Turtl
The Turtl is a great entry system to replace that old crawlspace door. This picture shows that it isn't just some makeshift thing sitting on the ground. We dig out the entrance and install the whole piece. It basically seals out any moisture and water problems that you encounter. DryZone is the #1 installer of this product in the entire world.
