Walls are sprayed with expanding foam
The walls of the crawlspace are sprayed with foam, that heats up and expands. The biggest problems we have seen are that it traps moisture behind the foam, and also that it makes a great environment for termites to live.
Sprayed from bottom to top
Aside from the ugly look of the foam, it leaves no area for your termite inspector to do the annual check.
Covering part of the wood
Termites seek out wood, so if the walls are sprayed all the way up to the wood the termites can get to their food source much easier.
No place to inspect for termites
This is a great picture of the sprayed wall. With no area left untouched, you can't see if there are termites crawling up the wall. Most of the time they could go unchecked for years.
Sprayed around equipment
What happens if you need to replace a well pump or geothermal line? Anything that sits on top of the liner may need to be replaced at some time. This would ruin that area of spray foam, a CleanSpace system can be repaired quite easily, however.
Every little cavity filled up
I'm willing to wager that this type of picture would be used to promote a spray foam system. The problem that most won't see until its too late is that termites could be traveling up behind the foam even as the picture is being taken.
