Even though this home had no standing water in their crawl space there was evidence that moisture had been present. By emanating the moisture from entering the crawl space through the ground and then adding a dehumidifier you are taking away one element that mold needs to grow and thrive. No standing water

The homeowner never had an issue was standing water in the crawl space but did have an issue with mold. The plastic that builders are required to put down doesn't act as an effective barrier for moisture. Ground moisture can still enter the crawl space.
