Nasty Crawlspace in Rehoboth Beach, DE
The Crawlspace in this photo has seen better days, the insulation is ruined, mold was beginning to form and the heating and cooling bills were abnormally high.
The Homeowner was Shocked that this was right below his feet
When the inspector showed the homeowner these pictures, they had no idea that their crawl space damage was so bad or that it was happening a few inches below them.
Insulation does not belong on the floor of the crawlspace
The homeowner paid good money to have the insulation installed in the floor joist. The insulation fell shortly after the initial install and the homeowner was complaining about cold floors in the home.
'What a difference!' is all the homeowner could say
The crawlspace was encapsulated using the CleanSpace vapor barrier. The project was completed in a few days and the transformation was amazing.
The damaged insulation is gone and the the floors are warmer
When you seal off the crawlspace, the cold air form the outside stays on the outside. That is why the floors above will become warmer.
The electric bills have gone down!
When the crawlspace is fixed and all of the air is sealed out and conditioned the homeowner should typically save between 10% to 15% off the heating and cooling cost of the electric bill.
One year after the install and it is still perfect
This photo was taken on the annual inspection, the system is still running just as good as the day it was installed. The homeowners are happy that the musty smells have gone away, the home is more energy efficient and they feel healthier.
