White, Chalky Stuff on the Blocks
This is a very common problem for most homeowners. They see the white stuff on their block walls and think that it could be mold. Actually, it is mineral deposits left behind when water vapor comes through the wall. While it isn't mold, it is a sign that water vapor is coming through the walls. If the water vapor gets the humidity too high, then mold can easily form in the crawlspace.
Drainage Matting
The under matting for CleanSpace is called Drainage Matting. There are several good reasons to have this layer, it cushions the ground for your knees and adds a layer of rigidity to the liner. It also allows a space under the white plastic for small puddles to sink back into the dirt.
Bright White Crawlspace
Often times homeowners tell us that they think of their crawlspace as a dungeon-like environment. Once the CleanSpace is installed they tell us that they could spend the night down there if they needed to. That sounds like a joke, but it really happens all the time. The air is clean and the dirt and bugs are gone.
Easy Repairs
If you end up having a problem with your air ducts or plumbing in the future the crawlspace will be far easier to work in while doing repairs. Most of the time people just slide in with jeans and a t-shirt. They no longer need to get "suited up" in coveralls or dirty work clothes.
Finish It Off With A Turtl!
The Turtl is a perfect way to close the entrance to the crawlspace. It is solid and sturdy as well as water tight. When properly installed, it will keep the water out of your crawlspace and allow for easy access when you need to get down there. Just remember to brush the rain water off of the lid first, or your butt might get wet.
