Vented crawl space door
These screen doors are supposed to "air out" the crawl space. They do let a lot of air into the crawl space, but what happens when that air is really wet with humidity? Don't forget that the crawl space entry is below ground. This door does nothing to stop rain from getting in.
Wet crawl space
Since most crawl spaces are below ground level, they are naturally going to allow ground water in. The key to making it a healthy and dry environment is managing the water once it is in there. DryZone uses several methods to control and direct the water and water vapor out of the crawl space to keep it nice and dry.
Old sump pump
The sump pump in this crawl space was open on the top. Without a good lid, the water evaporates and raises the humidity. Also, the lid would've prevented debris from falling in and clogging the pump.
Wet concrete blocks
Wet and stained concrete is a sign of water in the crawl space. Our inspectors have to look for these types of things because the water is not always there during the inspection.
New sump pump by DryZone
DryZone uses entire sump pump systems and not just a great pump in a cheap pit. Every element of the sum pump system is designed to benefit the home. The sealed lid keeps the water from evaporating up into the air. The short float switch prevents it from getting stuck and burning the pump out. There are so many other components to these pumps. Ask your Design Specialist all about them.
Drying out the crawl space
The SaniDry line of dehumidifiers are really the best machines for this type of job. Most household dehumidifiers just aren't strong enough to dry out the entire space. SaniDry machines will move the air efficiently and are able to scrub the air for almost all particles. What gets blown out is clean, dry air. The best part is that they are energy efficient, so you get a lot of output for a little energy usage. More bang for your buck!
CleanSpace vapor barrier
The CleanSpace crawl space liner is installed on the floor and the walls in the crawl space. This basically creates a continuous barrier to seal out the moisture from the ground. With almost no new moisture getting in, the crawl space will dry out very quickly.
Wrapping crawl space piers
By wrapping the piers in the crawl space we eliminate those areas that might otherwise leak. It also looks much better.
New crawl space door
The EverLast door is a huge upgrade from the older metal grate. It has a tight fit and will stop almost all of the humid air from getting in.
