Signs of moisture in the crawl space
The dark stains on the crawl space walls are evidence of water and water vapor getting into the crawl space. It also shows the inspector where the water is coming in, and that will help with sump pump placement.
Old plastic liner is no longer effective
The plastic gets wrinkles and tears over time. When this happens the water vapor can seep up into the craw space and raise the humidity.
HydroLink drainage pipe
HydroLink is manufactured right here in Milton, DE by DryZone employees. we find that it is perfect or the sandy soil found all over Delmarva. Other pipe systems have large holes that can easily clog by letting in the dirt. HydroLink has thin slots that filter out most of the dirt, allowing just the water into the pipe. If you ever want to see if the pipes are clogged, simply pop the top off of a clean out port and take a look.
Drainage matting
The brown layer of drainage matting goes under the bright white CleanSpace. There are several benefits to using drainage matting. The best reasons to use it are that it adds cushion for crawling on the liner and it acts as a sort of network of tunnels for ground water. The small streams can easily find their way over to the perimeter pipes or just settle back into the dirt. Our installers love it because they have far less cleaning to do as they tape up the seams, which makes for tighter and cleaner joints in the liner.
Super reflective white liner
What was once a dark and dingy hole in the ground is now almost inviting. Just a few lights are needed to illuminate the entire crawl space.
Clean and Dry
This cracwl space is now in great shape. The wood can begin to dry out and the overall humidity will fall to a comfortable level.
Protecting the machines in the crawl space
With the CleanSpace liner installed, the well pump and HVAC unit are safe from rust due to high humidity. This homeowner will also notice a drop in energy costs. The cool and dry air in the crawl space with naturally travel into the house above. This air will be easier to heat and cool and some people notice that they don't even turn on the HVAC as often as they used to.
