Ruined fiberglass insulation
That black mass on the ground is actually a large piece of fiberglass insulation. It absorbed moisture from the air, got heavy, and fell down. It is not only useless as insulation in this instance, it is also the perfect place for mold to grow.
Air conditioning ducts laying in pools of water
These air ducts are surrounded by the same fiberglass insulation that you saw in the previous picture. When it gets wet, it is ruined. These ducts are laying in mud and other filthy conditions. I can't imagine the air smelling good when it has to pass through these ducts.
Pooling water in the crawlspace
This crawlspace wasn't what you might call flooded, but it did have several pools of water throughout the area. These pools will evaporate and cause the overall humidity to go way up. A proper CleanSpace vapor barrier and strong dehumidifier is a great way to fix these problems.
Attention to detail
In this picture you can see that the dirty fiberglass insulation has been removed. This step will cut down on that awful smell that a lot of people complain about. You can also see how tight and straight the CleanSpace liner has been installed. When DryZone installs this high quality vapor barrier, we want to be sure the seams are straight and without leaks. It would be hard to get a proper seal if the liner was done without care. Also in this photo is the SaniDry CX air machine or dehumidifier. Basement Systems spent years perfecting this machine to be the highest quality and most efficient machine available. It will dry your crawlspace and keep it dry so that no mold will be able to grow.
Air ducts no longer sitting in water
Now the air ducts are sitting on a nice and clean surface. They can dry out and function much better under these conditions.
Proper crawlspace sump pump
This is a SmartSump sump pump system. I know the name is a tongue twister but to call it just a sump pump wouldn't be right. The high quality pump inside the unique container it mostly cast iron. This means its meant to last and won't burn out easily like a lighter weight pump. The lid is sealed so that no water vapor can escape into the air. There is even an alarm on the lid to let the homeowner know if there is a plumbing leak. These pumps are a great addition to any crawlspace and give the homeowner a great feeling.
SaniDry CX air machine (dehumidifier)
The SaniDry will pull a great deal of moisture out of the air as well as most mold particles. This machine has been created to be the most efficient and have the highest output. What that means is that it does more work while using less energy then any other comparable machine available.
