Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Drainage Matting is the brown stuff that goes up under the vapor barrier
So many people ask about this Drainage Matting stuff. It is basically an under layer to the heavy duty CleanSpace vapor barrier. It lifts the liner up just slightly off the ground and adds quite a bit of protection to the liner itself. It also adds a little insulation and allows for small amounts of water to drain evenly across the ground instead of pooling in one spot.
Drainage Matting
It overlaps and is cut to size. All by itself its a great vapor barrier, way better than the standard 6 mil liner.
Tacked in place
The Drainage Matting gets tacked into the dirt to minimize the movement and stop the gaps in the liner from opening up.
It feels much nicer on the old knees
One of my favorite features of Drainage Matting is that it feels much nicer on the knees than bare dirt. All those little rocks won't be a problem anymore.
