John B. Leaning chimney
Challenge
The home was almost twenty years old and in the last six years the chimney began to lean away from the home. Upon Foundation Supportworks by DryZone's initial inspection we found that the footing of the chimney was much larger than normal, and the chimney was not tied into the home.
Solution
DryZone installed 2- 288 helical piers that were embedded to a depth of twenty five feet, an excavator was used in conjuntion with a drive head, which is like a big screw gun, a heavy duty bracket was then installed under the footing and then the lift began. As the chimney rose the homeower was exited that the gap between the home and the chimney began to close.
