Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Crack Repair Harbeson, DE
The homeowner reached out to us because they were having water come into their basement during heavy rains. Their basement is already finished, so they want to have this issue fixed quickly to ensure there is no further damage.
Upon inspection of the wall, we were able to find cracks around and near two pipes. We used FlexiSpan to seal and protect the area.
FlexiSpan crack repair is actually a three-part process that begins with the application of a flexible sealant along the full length of the crack. Next, a strip of flexible and porous foam is installed over the crack.
Finally, an impermeable membrane is adhered to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. This fail-safe treatment allows any future seepage of water through the crack to move invisibly down the wall and into the basement’s perimeter drainage system.
Removing Wall Insulation
In order to see how severe the damage to the foundation wall was, we needed to remove the insulation around the area of both pipes to make sure we uncover the entirety of the crack in order to fix it properly and permanently

This is what the wall looked like after we peeled back the insulation/wall surrounding both pipes. Both cracks ran from the pipe to the bottom of the floor.
Completed Project
We used FlexiSpan to fix and seal the two cracks that were surrounding both pipes.
