Measuring the drop
You can see the large gap in the floor. Two inches is more than a lot when you consider this is the hallway inside the home. Eroding dirt and settlement are major factors that contribute to these conditions.
Concrete and grout pump
This is a picture of some of the equipment used when installing concrete slab piers. When we lift the concrete floor back up to try and level it out, there is a void left behind. We then pump in a concrete and grout mixture to fill the void.
Drilling hole in the floor
The hole needed to install a slab pier system is not that large at all. This makes less mess and means that the slab will retain more of its original structure.
Holes are all filled in
That wet spot on the concrete floor is where the slab pier has been covered up and filled in. Once it dries it will be barely noticeable. Now the floor is supported by strong steel poles instead of just the dirt underneath the home.
Notice the gap is gone
Most of the time we are able to lift the floor back into place. This makes it as if the problem never existed.
