Wood damage
This joist, or support beam, is so rotted that it is cracking and splitting. A good jump would probably send you through the floor.
Termite trails
The lighter lines are evidence of termites. They leave little trails that are what's left of the mud tunnels they cover themselves with as they move. No homeowner wants to see this.
Ruined wood
See how the wood is bowed and cracked, also more termite trails.
Lots of termite activity
There are so many trails, its like a termite party.
Crushed around a support column
When wood gets really wet and rots out, the weight of the house smashes and crushes the wood. It is completely ruined at this point.
Wood is completely destroyed
The wood beams are totally gone. The only thing holding the people up out of the crawlspace is the thin sub floor here.
More ruined wood
These beams have basically turned to dust. Had the homeowner called us earlier, we might have been able to salvage something.
Termite damage
If you look closely, you can see the cavities left behind from termites eating through the wood.
More crushed beams
More moisture in the air causes more of the wood to be ruined.
Cracked floor joists
You can see these joists cracked and falling apart.
Springy floors
This is a spot in the floor that the homeowner described as being "springy" and for good reason. There is nothing left of the wooden supports below.
