"Reverse" wall anchors
I've taken to calling these "reverse wall anchors." Actually this is a pretty common way to use them. If you have been looking at our photo gallery and seen all the other pictures of GeoLock wall anchors, they might look reversed to you. This is the back wall which supports a garage. The other side is all dirt, and the wall is bowing out. The homeowner was worried that the wall would eventually fail and the garage would collapse. DryZone installed several GeoLock wall anchors to prevent that from happening.
Garage floor cut open, instead of digging holes outside
As you can see, the normal process of digging holes to install the earth anchor plates would not work here. Our crew cut a clean section out of the garage floor. This allowed them to dig down to the level of the outside wall and get the wall anchors in place.
Just before getting the dirt out of the hole
This picture shows you that they are, in fact, in the garage. No trick photography here, folks. Check a few photos later to see the finished look.
Keeping the garage clean
If you look carefully you can see the tarps and plastic under the mounds of dirt. Here at DryZone, we pride ourselves keeping your home neat and tidy. We want you to be excited and happy with our work, this includes the clean up afterwards, too. Also in this picture are the heavy duty earth anchor which we use to support the heavy bowing wall.
Close up of the earth anchors
You can see just how large these plates are. DryZone uses only the highest quality parts for our foundation repair projects. Fortunately, we are a part of Foundation Supportworks. The level of quality and thought that goes into each products and solution is second to none.
All finished up on this job
The only thing left to do is shake the homeowner's hand and wish him a great day. The trench has been filled in and the concrete has been re-poured. All the wall anchors are in place and the once bowing wall in now fully stabilized. This wall in going nowhere.
