Large crack in the garage wall
This house just fine, but the garage is sinking. Sometimes the added weight of the heavy concrete floor isn't considered when building the garage. Sometimes its just the softer soils under the house that causes it to sink. Either way a helical or push pier system is a great fix.
Twisting away from the house
The green arrows show the direction that the garage was settling. Its almost like the last 5 feet or so was snapped off and sinking. The red crack is the same as the previous picture, just highlighted.
Up close on the crack
This crack was pretty large. The inspector estimated it as just under a half inch wide on average.
Big foundation crack
When the crack gets to be this big there is a chance that the wooden supports can crack. Most of the time drywall will split and crack inside the house, but when the cracks get worse it can damage the wooden structure as well.
