Derek McCarra, new DryZone Sales Manager
Please join us in congratulating Derek McCarra on his promotion to DryZone Sales Manager. This announcement came as little surprise to most of the company. Derek has basically been acting in this capacity for a few months now. He has exhibited excellent leadership and organizational skills in his time at DryZone. Derek has been one of the top salespeople since his first day. DryZone owners, Bill and Gary, believe heavily in promoting from within, so they have had their eyes on Derek for quite some time. Derek is always the first to volunteer for special projects and most of the newer Systems Designers have learned immensely through his weekly education sessions. Derek realized early on that he was hearing the same concerns and questions from potential homeowners. He took it upon himself to institute a voluntary once a week training session to learn ways to better serve the public. It started small and quickly became a room full of Systems Designers going over common concerns as well as brainstorming and team building. Derek also realized that any company works better when all the parts, or departments, function as a well-oiled machine. He got the Sales team together and they came up with the idea of taking the Production staff on an all-day fishing trip. Derek has made himself into a leader, and still remains humble. During his short acceptance speech at this year’s DryZone Christmas Party he stated, “I’m only as good as the people around me. Thank you all for making things work so well.”
