What to do when your first choice just won't work

Options are almost always a good thing. Many of our homeowners like to know that there are several ways to fix a problem, just in case the unexpected pops up. This is especially great when we are fixing a broken foundation or bowing and broken basement wall.

Recently, DryZone was contracted to fix a large wall crack in a basement wall. Just like any other day, our inspector went out to see things first hand. He had to determine all the little details that help him to make the right recommendations. On this house he would ordinarily use our GeoLock Wall Anchors, mainly because they are the “go-to” solution and are a reliable solution for bowing walls. However, the neighbor’s yard is only 16 feet away. The GeoLock wall anchors need around 12 feet from the bad basement wall in order to use the hard, undisturbed soil for support.  Digging in the neighbor’s yard was definitely not an option, so our inspector had to choose another option.

After he explained the PowerBrace system to the homeowner, they both knew it would be a great improvement, and a very viable solution. The installation time is roughly the same for both systems, so the homeowner was happy that it only took a few days and the wall was fixed.

No one likes to feel like they have limited repair options. With our vast experience and access to a wide variety of foundation repair solutions, our inspectors and design specialists will most probably have a solution that works for everyone.
