Frequently asked questions at Home Shows across Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland

Home Show season is once again upon us. In fact, this past weekend was one of the big shows that we look forward to every year. For one, it is a huge show with lots of vendors and patrons to meet. But the biggest reason why I like it is because its always early in the year and it signals the start of the season for us to connect with customers.

The OC Seaside Boat Show is a major event for boat owners and enthusiasts. It is presented by the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club. Now you might be wondering why a crawlspace and basement repair company would go to a boat show. The answer is simple, we are there to meet the public and offer our services to fix the many leaky basements and dirty crawlspaces on Delmarva. Any chance to have a face-to-face interaction with a homeowner is a valuable opportunity for us to help answer questions and talk about our expertise.

While I was at the boat show on Friday and Saturday, I noticed a few questions getting asked over and over again. I thought I would take this opportunity to answer them for all of you who couldn’t get out to the show.

FAQ’s, frequently asked questions…

“Do I need to put insulation back in the ceiling of my crawlspace?”

Well the answer is simple: no. The fiberglass insulation that most people are familiar Crawlspace with no insulation in the floor joistswith is the cheapest way to insulate an area. The problem with it being used in a crawlspace is that it absorbs the moisture in the air and will start to sag. It also smells really awful when its wet. DryZone uses much more effective ways to insulate the crawlspace. We love the SilverGlo panels because they will never hold water and our homeowners see almost immediate results. People call all the time and say that the floors are warmer and the house is more comfortable.

A lot of folks asked about the thickness of our liner while at the show. The funny thing is that they asked the question while standing on the liner itself. I like to use our actual CleanSpace liner on the floor of every booth to show just how strong and durable it is. The CleanSpace liner is a 20 mil thickness and even has 2 layers of nylon cord reinforcement. I like to say that someone will have to willingly try to poke a hole in it. While its not indestructible, it is incredibly strong and will last for years to come.

I could go on forever with the questions we get at Home Shows. The best way to get them answered is to have a DryZone inspector out to take a look under your home. How much does it cost to have someone out? The inspection is 100% free of charge.

I look forward to meeting you at the next show. Check us out at upcoming shows in Easton, Dover, Wilmington, Rehoboth Beach, and Salisbury.
