DryZone help a local child reach her goal for the Polar Bear Plunge

Rehoboth Beach Polar Bear PlungeDryZone has always been a company that cares about the local community. We have remained committed to building our community and supporting the citizens that we help. On February 2nd, 2012 Rehoboth Beach, DE once again hosted the Polar Bear Plunge, this is an annual event to raise money for Special Olympics. DryZone's owners sponsored a young Harrington, DE girl that was trying to make a difference in our world.

Plunge Day…

Bill and Heather from DryZone went down to the beach on the day of the plunge to see if they could find the little girl and see how she made out with the fundraising. What they found was a beach packed to the brim with “plungers” and their friends and families. No one was prepared for the amount of people present that day. Bill and Heather's daughter, Grace, was so moved by the amount of people there to support such a worthwhile cause. She was so moved to see all dedicated people jumping into water that was barely above freezing, that she wants to organize a DryZone group who will take the plunge next year.  Many plungers stayed all day just talking to strangersView from the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, seeing what this event was all about. These brave people raise money for a worthy local charity and then jump into the freezing waters of the Delaware Bay. The funny part is that, with all those people in close proximity, no one seemed to be cold at all. It’s a pretty good metaphor when it comes to charity work; the human spirit literally warmed the crowd.
